Design & Display

The design of the Tecno Pouvoir 3 is amazing, it comes with a sleek body which has glossy back and a noticeable 3.8mm visual thickness that show-case her beauty in symmetry.

Still on the design, at the very top is a good looking notch that houses the receiver, flash-light and the front-facing camera.

At the other end of the Tecno Pouvoir 3, you will notice a little bit wide bezels. The speaker grill, micro USB port and microphone are however placed at the bottom of the phone.

The sim tray and volume rocker are on the right side, while the micro SD card tray is at the left. There is also a 3.5mm headphone jack at the top.

Taking a good look at the back, you will find the single camera shooter, dual LED flash and fingerprint sensor. Tecno even went as far as integrating the ‘Pouvoir’ name just below the fingerprint scanner.

It is very surprising to see the camera bump taking a center position. This is 2019, the year of vertical placement. I wonder why Tecno decided to go against the ground.

The Pouvoir 3 comes with a wide 6.2inch super full view display that is crisp, clear, bright and is HD+ certified. It has up to 1500 x 720p resolution that assist with clarity on the display.

The display experience  is awesome, you can take advantage of her superior view and use it to watch movies, play games and even do some reading in Nigeria.

Considering her new notch display, I will say that Tecno have taken a step further in her 3rd series, at least when you see this phone, you will know that it was designed for 2019.

You can however hide the notch if you don’t like it, all you need to do is activate some settings option period.

Camera

The camera isn’t disappointing at all, even when Tecno Mobile presented the Pouvoir 3 as a battery phone, they didn’t ignore her camera by a single inch. But rather presented a decent camera to shot with.

On the camera is a 13MP front-facing and 13MP rear AI camera with dual LED flash. There is also a front-facing flashlight to assist with taking selfies at night in Nigeria.

The Tecno Pouvoir 3 can take amazing photos, it comes with an AI beauty mode on the selfie camera that can identify your photo features and beautify them with her powerful algorithm and adjustable front flashlight.

If your image happens to get over exposed, there is an AI HDR mode that can repair the image automatically. This is Artificial Intelligence in action. All thanks to tech upgrades.

On the Pouvoir 3, you will find real-time filters and styles like fresh, forest, classic, warm, blues, soft and mono which helps to satisfy different beauty needs on the camera.

The camera can also take portrait shots with bokeh effects that assist in blurring the background and make you stand out in the picture. What more can you ask for in Nigeria?

Let’s talk about the battery life of this very phone. This is considered the number one reason to buy this smartphone in Nigeria. A huge battery is not something you can easily ignore you know.

The Tecno Pouvoir 3 comes with Android 8.1 Oreo that is based on Tecno’s latest HIOS user interface which now makes the display look very simplistic and easy to navigate.

Inside the Tecno Pouvoir 3 is a 2GB RAM and 32GB ROM which can be expandable via micro SD card slot. It comes with a MediaTek MT6739 chip and runs on a 1.28GHz quad-core processor.

Safety features & more

On the Tecno Pouvoir 3 are two main security features; face ID and fingerprint reader. The face ID has the new security technology that makes you speedily unlock the phone by just taking a look at the screen.

The fingerprint reader on the other hand can unlock instantly with just a single touch without putting your security at stake in Nigeria. There are also password and pattern lock available on the Tecno Pouvoir 3.

My thoughts

The Tecno Pouvoir 3 is an incredible option that is worth considering in Nigeria. For you to enjoy certain features in a smartphone, it is very important to buy a phone that comes with a long-lasting battery.

Tecno Mobile have done really well by producing a budget smartphone like this. They brilliantly integrated a lot of good stuffs in it even though it was meant to be a power master.

The Pouvoir 3 is very much balanced. However, if you fill you need more of battery life in a smartphone, you can buy this smartphone in Nigeria and have peace of mind.
