“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;” Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 (KJV)

I remember the first time I watched the TV series, The Flash. The most intriguing part for me was the Time-Travel stuff besides all the other Quantum Physics mumbo jumbo (‘mumbo jumbo’ because it was quite confusing at the time, and, sincerely, I still don’t get it till now. Well, let’s not get sucked into that for now or else we’ll all get lost and I don’t think Barry will come and get us).

Okay, back to what I was saying. I was intrigued by the Time Travel because it got me thinking. And believe me I do a lot of thinking. I don’t mean thinking as in worrying or calculating how A will become Y. Rather I do think about why or how a lot of things are the way they are or how some things that exist no matter their realities can relate and/or affect us.

So, it got me thinking, especially when Barry or any of the series’ characters meet their ‘other self’ from the ‘other universe’ or from the future or past. There is always a reaction or major activity triggered when such contacts are made. These, put together skillfully, formed a very beautiful plot of the highly successful series run.

Now, before I end up telling you about a Tv Series and forget why I’m here, I want to quickly get you to see something unique. I hope this sinks?

On your own part now, imagine someone exactly like you just shows up one day and says he/she is you but from a totally different time? What will you do if one day you meet this person?

You see, I want you to think about that for a moment. A lot of us just wake up, pick up our bags, our laptops, our phones (or whatever else it is that we like to pick up) and we jump out. But do we take moments to ponder, What am I sowing into my tomorrow? This is important, why, because Tomorrow’s fruits are today’s seeds. Always remember this.

A lot of people are in pain today probably because of certain choices they made yesterday. Of course, the person who made that choice is in the past but the person who is bearing the consequences is in the present. What’s the difference? Well, it’s simple. No one ever makes certain decisions after experiencing the consequences of it. Rather, we do things, then later experiences or consequences can follow. Isn’t that right?

Hope I’m not producing my own mumbo jumbo too? You’ll understand better as we go on.

Do you remember the day you made a particular costly decision that had a dire consequence? Do you realize that both times or scenarios (the day you did it and the time you suffered the results) were by far very different?  The ‘You’ who took that step was different from the ‘You’ that got hit.

Let’s continue. By rational thinking, you’ll agree with me that sometimes you wish this you from now can go back in time and correct some things or go into the future to see the outcome of other things. If you could travel back in time, you’d prevent the you in the past from making that decision because he won’t be the one to suffer it rather you would be. Does it make sense now?

One very great thing to remember is that your actions or choices today will become the experiences you may live with the day after today, either good or bad. Therefore, I ask you this: if you met your future self today (the person you’ll become tomorrow. The person who will either enjoy or suffer the consequences of all you’re doing today), will he commend you or will he punch you?

Have you ever met someone who said they hated who they used to be? That was a future addressing a past self.

Today is the day to prepare for tomorrow. If any one of you reading this is pursuing some thing today or working hard at anything, just know that you’re a laying a foundation for your experience tomorrow.

Therefore, it is required that as this is the case, we ought to be people constantly working on ourselves. Learning more than ourselves. Teaching ourselves. Examining ourselves and heading unto perfection. People who do this give their future self something to be thankful for.

As we enter the half of the year, June, remember these things, and I hope that when the you from December will think of the you from June, he won’t be disappointed. God bless you.
