With a lot of features thrown at this smartphone, you will agree with me that the Xiaomi Mi A3 deserve some credits. You might not really understand what am saying until you are done reading.

Availability & Price
The Xiaomi Mi A3 comes in three different colors; more than white, not just blue and kind of grey. It is available for purchase in Nigeria and can be bought in online and offline stores at an affordable price.
The Xiaomi Mi A3 comes with a design that qualifies for 2019. This is the year of dot drop, tear drop or water drop notch display as some will all it in Nigeria. The Mi A3 checked this.
This is also the year a lot of budget smartphones are getting a vertical camera placement at the back and it does seem like any smartphone without this feature is off the league already in Nigeria.
However, the good news is; the Xiaomi Mi A3 checked this as well.
On the right is where the volume and power buttons are, the sim tray and micro SD card slot are on the left while the speaker and USB-C port are at the bottom.
There is also a 3.5mm headphone jack at the top. The Xiaomi Mi A3 is of portable size and weight, it has a 153.48×71.85×8.5mm dimension and weighs 173.8gram.
You will also notice that the Xiaomi Mi A3 comes with small bezels but there is still a noticeable chin down below. That should make up for a comfortable hand grip anyway.
This is where I will say the biggest upgrade is, the switch over from LCD to OLED display. Yes there is now an OLED screen on the A series line-up and the Mi A3 is the first to have it.
On the Xiaomi Mi A3 is a 6.088 inch tear drop display that comes with a 1560 x 720p resolution and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The display is protected by a 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
The display also boost a 60000:1 contrast ratio which helps with better picture quality and streaming of HDR contents on the web. Whether you are watching movies or gaming, the Mi A3 is on the go.
The Xiaomi Mi A3 comes with triple rear AI cameras; the first is a 48MP primary camera with sony sensor, 4-in-1 super pixel and f/1.79 aperture. The second is an 8MP ultra wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture.
While the third is a 2MP depth camera with AI portrait mode and a steady handheld night photography. The Xiaomi Mi A3 can do 4K video recording on 1080p and 720p at 60/30fps.
You can also do slow motion video recording on either 720p or 1080p at 240fps and 120fps. The camera has AI scene detection which can detect up to 27 different scenes.
In front of the Xiaomi Mi A3 is a 32MP AI selfie camera which has up to 5 pcs lens, 4-in-1 super pixel design, panorama and an AI face unlock for facial recognition.
Under the hood is a 4030mAh built-in rechargeable battery that is non-removable. The battery supports fast charging, it comes with a 3.0 quick charge Technology and a 10W fast charger.
The battery capacity on the Xiaomi Mi A3 is more than enough for your daily use. It can conveniently take care of your entertainment and social activities with some left over depending on your level of usage.
Software & Spec
As expected, the Xiaomi Mi A3 comes with Android one [stock android], there is no extra customization whatsoever. Everything arrived exactly how Google wanted android to look like.
On the inside, there is an Adreno 610 GPU, a Qualcomm snapdragon 665 chip which now runs on a 2.0GHz octa-core processor and has up to 11nm finFET process.
The Xiaomi Mi A3 comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB/128GB ROM of internal storage but don’t expect to see that exact number when you buy the phone.
This is because some data have been utilized by the Operating system and software applications pre-installed in the phone. You can however, use a micro SD card [up to 256GB] for expandability.
Security features, Connectivity & more
When you take a good look at the back of the Xiaomi Mi A3, you will notice that there is no physical fingerprint reader. This have been replaced by an in-display fingerprint scanner.
For those who prefer to use their face to unlock the Xiaomi Mi A3 in Nigeria, there is face unlock available on this device too. You are free to choose the one that is convenient for you.
Also available on the Mi A3 are 2G, 3G, 4G & 4G+ network connectivity with supports for 2.4G WiFi, 5G WiFi, WiFi Direct and Display. It comes with Bluetooth 5.0 and an IR remote.
What’s inside the box?
When you unbox the Xiaomi Mi A3, These are the things you will find inside: sim eject tool, user guide, black soft case, 10W power adapter, USB Type-C cable and a warranty card.
If you hate changing smartphone very often and you need a budget smartphone that is not too expensive and can stand the test of time in Nigeria. The Xiaomi Mi A3 might just be what you need.
Aside the OLED display, the fact that the Xiaomi Mi A3 is stock android is something I admire a lot. To be honest, I love stock android phones; may be that is why am into this phone.
To wrap up this review, I will like to say a this. If you really want to get a full taste of Android in its real form, I strongly recommend you get the Xiaomi Mi A3 in Nigeria.
You don’t have to dive so deep into your account to get this phone. This is not Google selling stock android to you in the name of ‘Pixel’, this is Xiaomi’s gift on a budget.
