Design & Display

There isn’t much to say other than to acknowledge the fact that the design looks pretty good even though the design feature is something we are very much familiar with in Nigeria. We are glad it wasn’t out of place.

I mean, there are tons of smartphones with similar design trend in Nigeria so the Tecno Pova won’t blow your head at first “design-wise”. However, there is one cool feature we got to admire here and that is the game changing google assistant button. 

On the display is a generous 6.8inch LCD panel that is wide, rich, and entertaining due to her strong color contrast. It’s got a 720 x 1640p resolution with 480 nits brightness to add up.

The display is bigger, clearer, and brighter. With a 90.4% screen aspect ratio and 264 PPI, you are pretty set. Watching video and playing games with greater vision is pretty amazing in Nigeria

Camera & Battery

In front of the Tecno Pova is a pretty simple 8MP  punch hole camera with dual flash at the top to help with low light. At the rear, we’ve got a quad camera set up that is made up of a 13MP + 2MP + 2MP + AI lens with an LED flash to support. 

On the battery department, the Tecno Pova has it good. It’s got a 6000mAh battery pack inside which is incredible since it does have an 18W fast charging feature as well. But we didn’t notice any significant effect the fast charging did with charging time.

Final Thoughts

It is clear this smartphone is not for everyone in Nigeria. At first, we thought it was targeted at gamers only but i guess that is not the case here, almost every single feature received some touch.

However, the Tecno Pova tends to favour gamers more than any other category of persons in Nigeria. With stand alone features like game space and game mode, there is hardly much to argue here.

Either way, the Tecno Pova is a solid piece of Tech that is game changing considering the fact that it is the first-gen in this series. And surprisingly, it came out well.  We hope it continues this way.
