Design

The design of the Tecno Camon 12 is the most attractive part of it. When you see a smartphone that was properly designed, it wouldn’t take you a minute to notice it.

The Tecno Camon 12 comes in a gradient nebula design, it has a glossy finish and an attractive appearance. One can easily mistake it for a premium flagship in Nigeria even when it comes in a plastic body.

Tecno was wise enough to implement a tear drop notch on her Camon 12. This automatically means we are gradually saying goodbye to the tiny bezels we are used to seeing in Nigeria.

We are almost getting to the end of 2019 and I am quite sure we will get to see more of tear drop notch displays in 2020. So be ready to put away your smartphones with tiny bezels pretty soon.

Every single placement on the Tecno Camon 12 is not so different from what we have seen from Tecno in her recent release this year especially the second half of 2019. There are just some slight difference though.

On the notch is where the selfie camera is, there is also a hidden front-facing flashlight around that region.

The right side consist of the volume and power buttons while the triple tray slot for dual nano-sim and micro SD card are on the left.

While the top sits empty, the bottom has the speaker grill, micro USB port, microphone and 3.5mm headphone jack in her possession. You will also get to find a physical fingerprint reader and triple AI cameras at the back.

Display

The display on the Tecno Camon 12 is another new era of cinematic viewing experience. Even though it didn’t come with an OLED panel, her LCD screen is surprisingly okay.

With her 90% edge-to-edge ratio you are sure of getting an expansive view of the 6.25 inch FHD+ crystal tear drop notch display at a glance.

The display also maintains a decent 720 x 1600p resolution for a better and nice display quality while gaming, watching movies and streaming YouTube videos.

The Tecno Camon 12 comes with a non-removable 4000mAh battery capacity that is self-sufficient, it is more than enough to serve you for a day.

What we have here is a 3D stereoscopic facial beauty that guarantee a more natural and charming selfie. You are going to find this interesting when you make use of it.

It doesn’t stop there, you can now activate the beauty mode when recording videos. Beauty modes have always been fantastic on pictures, imagine how good it will appears on videos.

This is an amazing upgrade, it therefore means that the Tecno Camon 12 is one of the few if not the first already to have this unique camera upgrade in Nigeria.

Worried about the selfie flash? The Tecno Camon 12 has two hidden front-facing flash that lights up when you need them. Their major role is to improve picture quality in low-light conditions.

My Thoughts

Tecno have successfully moved another step further in the Camon series line-up and this is what we all love to see. Improvement and nothing more.

The Tecno Camon 12 is no doubt a great Tech in her price point. Am glad her battery capacity received a boost so we can have more screen-on time to enjoy.

The design feature and storage options available on the Tecno Camon 12 are quite impressive. At least, you don’t have to spend so much to feel premium in Nigeria.
