Design & Display
The Huawei Mate XS is the best designed foldable yet as far as 2020 first quarter is concerned. From top to bottom, the Mate XS is outstanding. This is a very unique piece of Tech that you wouldn’t mind paying a whooping sum to get.
Huawei have once again proven to everyone that they did not only deserve to be at the top but they can also demonstrate some high level of brilliance when it comes to smartphone inventions.
If you thinking about buying a foldable smartphone that will make you happy, I strongly recommend you think about the Huawei Mate XS. It’s got a falcon wing design and a stunning fullView display that offers immense details and vivid colors.
You get the advantage of navigating between two awesome large 8.0 inch and 6.6 inch screens to handle at the same time. The display can adaptively adjust an app to suite the size of display you are working with.
You also get a lot of flexibility with security on the power button which have now plays a secondary role as fingerprint reader. This makes it very easy to wake up and unlock your phone securely ASAP!
One thing I love about the design of the Huawei Mate XS is the position of the cameras. Could you believe this thing have no selfie camera; the main camera does everything.
Camera & Battery
Since the Huawei Mate XS folds outwardly, it was very easy to station a Leica Quad Rear Camera at the back to serve dual purpose. It is just so amazing to have the same picture quality irrespective of the angle you decide to shot from in Nigeria.
Let’s take a look at the numbers. We’ve got a 40 MP (Wide Angle Lens, f/1.8 aperture) + 16 MP (Ultra Wide Angle Lens, f/2.2 aperture) + 8 MP (Telephoto, f/2.4 aperture, OIS) and a Time-of-Flight (TOF) Camera. The image quality here is great.
The 40 MP Supersensing Camera absorbs efficient light and details to capture the amazing scenes and people in the dark. There is this thing called mirror shooting on the camera App. When the Mate XS is folded, it let’s you see how you look even before photos are taken.
Since the rear camera doubles as the front camera after the phone is folded, there is no need for a selfie camera. The main supports autofocus (that includes phase focus, contrast focus and Huawei’s AI Image Stabilization.
The battery available here is a 4500mAh non removable battery that can last for a full day of heavy use in Nigeria. It comes with Huawei’s supercharge Max 55W which is capable of reducing charging time by a reasonable inch. You get about 85% in 30 minutes.
Software & Specs
The Huawei Mate XS comes with an already installed EMUI 10.0.1 UI based on Android 10. The user interface on this device is magnificent. The number thing you will appreciate very much here is her excellent multitasking.
