Tecno at her global spring event held in Lagos, Nigeria introduced some new phones, one of these was the much talked about selfie lord, “the Tecno Camon X and X pro”.

After manufacturing series of smartphones all these years, Tecno finally made a one-time awesome smartphone that is worth considering.

The Tecno Camon X is a budget android phone that has a lot going for it, it appears to look different from previous Tecno phones in Nigeria, this is because Tecno mobile in her commitment to keep up with trending innovation in the tech community have decided to start producing phones that looks pretty awesome.

I personally must commend Tecno for her recent improvement, it now means I can now buy a bezel-less phone with just a few bucks in Nigeria (winks*).

The design of the Tecno camon x is the number one reason why you should buy this phone in Nigeria.

You really might not understand why until I tell you this; as at late last year(2017), only high-end flagship phones like the pixel 2 xl, iPhone x and oneplus 5t got this bezel-less body design.

I think Tecno deserve an applause for implementing this same design feature on her flagship with an affordable price to go for.

The Tecno camon x have a new premium-plastic body looking design that makes it feel more like a 2018 flagship phone in Nigeria. The Tecno camon x is 158.6mm tall, 75.8mm wide and 7.8mm thick.

The bezels at the top and buttom are smaller now, the camera sensor and fingerprint reader are rightly placed slightly above the center with the Tecno brand  encryption written below.

What about the display of the Tecno camon X?

Straight out of the box is a 6.0 inch IPS LCD capacitive display with 18:9 aspect ratio and HD+ resolution of 1440 × 720 pixel which is surrounded by a 2.5D curved glass.

The display is very good for gaming and watching music & movie videos. The overall rating of the screen display of the Tecno camon x is really not disappointing and is perfectly okay for the price.

CAMERA

My number two reason why you should buy the Tecno Camon X in Nigeria is because of it’s camera.  The camera on the Tecno camon x is undoubtedly one of the best in Nigeria with the front-selfie camera taking the lead.

If you are out there looking for a smartphone with the best selfie camera in Nigeria, the Tecno Camon x won’t let you down.

The Tecno camon x rocks a 16MP rear camera and 20MP front-selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture and LED flash allotted to both sensors.

The selfie camera has some high-end features that makes the Tecno camon x a powerful selfie phone, among these features are: boken effect mode, HDR support mode, 4 in 1 mode, an intelligent adjustable flash and an AI selfie beautifier.

BATTERY LIFE

My number three is battery life, the battery life of any phone is very important to smartphone users in Nigeria, not forgoting flagship phones.

Now number four, let’s talking about safety. The Tecno camon x has face ID (hmm! is this true?) of course yes. I guess you are beginning to see why I love this phone.

With face ID, you can simply unlock your phone by just taking a look at the display, it works just like the fingerprint reader you are use to although you have to do a onetime facial capture of your face to allow only you unlock your phone.

The face ID feature on the Tecno camon x serves as an alternative way to secure your phone, for those of you who get a bit uncomfortable placing you finger behind to unlock your phone, I guess you are likely gonna find this interesting.

I am yet to see a phone in the same price range as the Tecno camon x with face ID feature in Nigeria, if you know of any, please let me know in the comment below.

SOFTWARE SYSTEM AND SPECS

And lastly my number five is the software system and specification. The software system of this phone wasn’t left out at all. The Tecno camon x comes with an already installed android 8.0 Oreo which is accompanied by HIOS user interface. I heard the new HIOS interface let’s you navigate easily when using the phone.

Talking about specs, the tecno camon x is also very well equipped with numbers, it comes with a mediatek helio P23 chipset, 2.0GHz octa-core processor, 3GB RAM & 16GB ROM which can be expandable via micro SD up to 128GB. The Tecno camon x works with dual nano-sim and supports 4G.

MY THOUGHT

Having gone through my five solid reasons why you should get the Tecno camon x in Nigeria, the big question is: is it worth the price?

The Tecno camon x is currently and undoubtedly worth buying, it is considered the best option in that price range especially here in Nigeria.
