The Infinix Smart 9 is another budget smartphone from Infinix Mobility. It is said to have some notable essential features that comes at an affordable price. When compared to her successor of last year, the Infinix Smart 9 has some notable improvements one of such is the dual speakers.
In an attempt to keep the build quality in sync with price, they’ve decided to make some choice on your behalf in order to make things functional. That said, the Infinix Smart 9 has a smart design that looks very attractive, the Neo Titanium colour appears to have set this very phone on high.

The Infinix Smart 9 price in Nigeria begins at 135,000 ($85). It comes in two variants: the base version has 3GB RAM, 128GB ROM while the other version comes with 4GB RAM. Both have extended RAM so when you do the math, you get 6GB and 8GB RAM. It is available in Neo Titanium, Mint Green, Sandstone Gold and Metallic Black colors.
Design & Display
The Infinix Smart 9 design looks pretty smart and solid. Even though it comes in a body that is made of plastic. It does appear to be durable having survived over 200 rigorous quality tests, making it precision testing certified.
Whats on the body of this device? At first impression, it is wanting to look like the IPhone when viewed from behind. On the left is where you will find the volume and power buttons, the sim tray is on the right, at the top is the speaker grill; moving down to the bottom, you will find the headphone jack, microphone, USB Type C port and another speaker grill. Yeah! the Infinix Smart 9 has dual stereo speakers to enhance your auditory experience.
Moving on to the display, you will find a large vivid and clear 6.7inch punch-hole LCD display on this very phone. It comes with a 120Hz refresh rate and 500nit peak brightness that lets you enjoy clear visibility even under outdoor sunlight.
The Infinix Smart 9 has a responsive touch that works even with wet or greasy hands, this helps you gain control almost everytime. The display has the Always-On display and a dynamic bar that helps you stay updated with the latest updates on the go.
Camera & Battery
On the camera, the Infinix Smart 9 appear to have kept it simple. In front is where the 8MP selfie camera is postioned just where the punch on the display is. At the back is the 13MP main camera and an auxillary camera with two LED flash. One is actually meant to support the main camera while the other functions as a powerful LED flashlight that is capable of illuminating up to 5 meters.
The overall quality of the camera is impressive, photos taken with the main and selfie cameras are decent for a smartphone in this price point. With the Infinix Smart 9, you can achieve stunning ultra-HD portraits effortlessly, Just be sure you are getting as much natural light when you want to shot.
On the battery side, you will find a 5000mAh battery that is long-lasting. On a single full charge, you get to enjoy up to around 34 days of standby, 9.8 hours of gaming, 17.4 hours of outdoor navigation, and 17.1 hours of WhatsApp time. It comes with a 10W charger that helps to speed up charging time a bit, it took close to 3 hours to charge this phone from 0 to 100% in Nigeria.
Software & Hardware
The software on this device is quite easy and user friendly. What do we have here? The Infinix Smart 9 comes with android 14 Go edition OS which is based on XOS 14. When you unbox, you will find some preinstalled apps, there is an all-new Boost Engine that helps in mitigating slowdowns and ensuring seamless performance even with lengthy usage. For the record, YouTube app average about 47.7% launch speed.
The Infinix Smart 9 is IP54 dust and splash proof, it is powered by the MediaTek Helio G81 chip which is equipped with an octa-core processor that helps to enhance performance and lower power consumption. This is not just enjoyable only at this time but even after four years of use.

Final Thoughts
The Infinix Smart 9 is an interesting budget smartphone to try out; it is one of those phones that look premium from a far. The design is fire! When you come closer, you are quick to find out about certain features I will say are quite unique to smartphones in this price point.
One of such is the responsive touch that works like magic even with water drops appearing on the surface of the display, all thanks to the IP54 dust and splash resistant. I also find the camera exciting but I was hoping the auxiliary lens debut as a second camera at the back.
The new Helio G81 processor that comes with this very phone works, judging from its performance, it has so far demonstrated that the Smart series is headed towards the right direction. Thats it for now, let me know your thoughts on the Infinix Smart 9. Peace!
