The infinix smart 2 is an affordable smartphone for low-end users. The infinix smart 2 has everything an average user in Nigeria needs in a smartphone but if you are used to handling sophisticated phones like myself, I suggest you look elsewhere.
The infinix smart 2 was launched at about the same time the infinix smart 2 pro came out. It comes with some updated features that is worth considering. One of such feature is the introduction of face ID as her new method of biometric system.
The infinix Smart 2 also comes with some standalone features that would get you excited especially now that it is selling at her price that is affordable in Nigeria but you should be ready to sacrifice some few things.

Design and Display
The infinix smart 2 comes with an excellent design that have proven its identity. It has a dimension of 148 x 71 x 8.4mm and a body that is made of plastic. The buttons are rightly positioned on the right and the bezels are smaller now.
The infinix smart 2 is dual sim enabled, it comes with a 3.5m headphone jack at the bottom but there is no fingerprint reader at the back. What we have now that is serving as her new method of biometric system is face ID.
The introduction of face ID on the infinix smart 2 is a welcome development considering the fact that this unique feature was once upon a time exclusive to only high-end phones in Nigeria.
Although, the absence of fingerprint reader on the Infinix Smart 2 may likely be a deal breaker for some in Nigeria.
But then, what is fingerprint reader when there is face ID. In case you don’t know, face ID is gradually becoming number one.
Apple recently skipped fingerprint reader on her new set of IPhones that was launched in 2018. However, if you insist on fingerprint reader, I suggest you buy the smart 2 pro in Nigeria.
When it comes to display, the infinix smart has a 5.5inch IPS LCD display with 18:9 aspect ratio, 720 x 1440 pixels and 285 pixel per inch square. This display is surrounded by a multi-touch capacitive touchscreen in front and the screen to body ratio is just 72.95%.
The general quality of the display is not bad at all although the resolution is of lower standard when compared to that of high-end phones in Nigeria but when you consider the price, you might just have to skip resolution comparison and buy this phone in Nigeria.
Battery Life and Camera
Under the hood of the infinix smart 2 is a 3050mAh non-removable battery that is just enough to power the 5.5inch display but there is one huge mess; the infinix smart 2 has no fast charging. It took about 3 hours to charge from 0 to 100%.
On the camera, the Infinix smart 2 has is a 13MP rear and 8MP front selfie camera with dual LED flash and wide angle. The camera has f/2.0 aperture and an image resolution of 4128 x 3096 pixels.
Photos taken with the camera produced results of average quality but there are inbuilt camera features like auto flash, face detection, touch to focus and HDR mode to help beautifier and improve photo quality.
Software and more
The infinix smart 2 runs on Android 8.1 oreo with infinix XOS 3 User Interface which has better navigation and usability.
Although you might experience a few noticeable lag when trying to find your way around with the phone but the pro version is awesome.
When it comes to numbers, the infinix smart 2 has 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6739 quad core processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB ROM and an optional 32GB expandable storage via micro sd card Just in case you need more space.
My thoughts
The infinix smart 2 is a great smartphone for the price. It has a good number of nailed out features that would attract you. Among all the features identified in this phone, the face ID is the one am most attracted to.
If you also consider other features like software and battery life, you will discover that there are more reasons to buy the infinix smart 2 in Nigeria.
