Gionee M12 – A Solid Alternative

Last Updated on June 7, 2021 by TM
Gionee got the M12 rolled out already, this is probably a very unusual pick we probably didn’t see coming. Let me say Gionee has taken a new turn with the M12 launch. Things have started to make sense now.
The Gionee M12 is a significant power spec smartphone that is affordable in Nigeria. It comes in two variants with significantly identical specs that will make you wanna call the other a “pro” variant. If you do so, you are right.
For the most part, I kind of like what am seeing here. This is probably the smartphone you can take up and do some head to head battle with the competition. This is because the spec and form factor are most likely the same.

Gionee M12 Price in Nigeria
Speaking of price in Nigeria, the Gionee M12 comes in two main variants: 4GB and 6GB RAM storage configuration. This kind of made a solid impact on the price which can be seen when you click the button below.
Design & Display
The Gionee M12 comes with a pretty simple and straight forward design. I know this looks so normal and we like it that way in Nigeria. With a 163.9 x 76.8 x 9.3 mm dimension, we sure can tell we are having a very solid grip so the size is not intimidating at all.
The display is just about it, a 6.55inch screen is what is obtainable here. It is an IPS LCD type of screen which is very okay for a smartphone in this class in Nigeria. The display quality is not disappointing at all.
Camera and Battery
Beginning from the rear, we’ve got a quad set up on the main camera. It is made up of a combination of a 48MP wide + 5MP ultra-wide + 2MP depth + 2MP depth. With the four working together as a single unit, there is nothing too less to expect.
You also gain access to a bunch of essential camera features too. In front, the Gionee M12 nailed a 16MP selfie camera on a punch-hole display. This is no doubt a step in the right direction. The camera quality is not bad at all.
On the battery, the Gionee M12 has it good, they did not only include a 5100mAh battery, they even went ahead and ensured it is non-removable. Amazing right? Yap!

Final Thoughts
A significant upgrade is what the Gionee M12 is pushing forward this time. We all know the M12 features aren’t new to the market here in Nigeria but from her previous launch, I will say this a step up.
The Gionee M12 is no doubt a step in the right direction. The features here are right for the competition in Nigeria. There is hardly any department that didn’t get a touch here! We love what we saw and hope it continues that way.
