Itel recently rolled out her A55 which is currently the newest line up in the A series. At least we now have another new smartphone to talk about this year.
From what I can see, the Itel A55 is a budget smartphone that is already turning out to be the best big screen phone to buy at an affordable price in Nigeria.
When you take a first glimpse at the Itel A55, you will so much admire the back. The dual camera set up is her first prove. To even make things better the Itel A55 is of light weight.

Design & Display
The design of the Itel A55 is not bad at all, if you are more of tiny bezel fan, the design won’t disappoint you at all. Let’s just say Itel was able to design somethings smart for the budget market in Nigeria.
When you take a good look at the Itel A55, you will notice that her design is not so different from what we are used to seeing on her previously manufactured smartphones especially the ones released in Nigeria in 2019.
Everything here looks the same but I am more attracted to the vertically placed dual camera setup that comes with an LED flash at the rear of the Itel A55.
Getting a sweet silicone soft case won’t be an issue at all since the Itel A55 design and size is more of a uniform in almost every part of Nigeria.
Trust me, you won’t go through any stress trying to customize the external look of the phone since her design is very flexible.
On the display, the Itel A55 comes with a big 6.0 inch IPS full screen display with a wider view. This display is more than enough to enable you see clearly when surfing the web or doing some other rendering.
Camera
In front of the Itel A55 is an 8MP selfie camera with 4-in-1 big pixel technology all working together as a single big pixel unit. There is even a front-facing flash to support.
At the rear, there are two vertically placed 8MP sensors that comes with an LED flash which helps to brighten things up in various light conditions. You can choose to set it to Auto mode to enable it work best.
Battery Life
The battery capacity of the Itel A55 might not be the biggest around but keep it in mind that Itel have a way of integrating things together.
Under the hood is a decent 3000mAh in-built battery that is serving as a source of power to the Itel A55. This was done to make the smartphone feel light.
This battery life on the Itel A55 can however be extended to the maximum when you activate any of the two power modes that is right inside the smartphone.
You can choose to either turn-on the Smart Power Saving or Ultra Power Saving to help extend battery life. So you have nothing to worry about, all is good. Okay!
Software & Spec
The Itel A55 comes with an already installed Android 9.0 Pie Operating System that shipped-in with some pre-installed apps that are of light weight to the smartphone. Although they chopped off about 4GB.
The Itel A55 also boost a 1GB RAM and 16GB ROM It now runs on a 1.3GHz Quad-core processor. This you can use to store up to 8000 photos, 3000 songs and install more apps. There is also room for expansion via microSD card slot.
Security features & more
Your privacy is very important to Itel Mobile, that is why they have implemented some high-level of security features to help save guide the Itel A55 from intruders.
On this very Tech, there are two main security features: A fingerprint reader and face unlock.
The fingerprint reader allows you to unlock the Itel A55, take photos, answer/record phone calls, videos, stop alarm clocks, create app shortcuts and lock certain apps to protect user privacy.
The Face Unlock works great in any light condition even under dark scenes. Itel have implemented a screen fill light technology which helps to cast light via the screen. But that is not all.
The Face Unlock on the Itel A55 also have what is called LiveNess Mode which requires users to eye blinks for unlock authorization. This will go a long way in guarantying more security.
My Thoughts
We are very much familiar with seeing Itel manufacture a lot of budget smartphones for the past few years now. At least they are doing a great Job in the budget category.
In my own opinion, the Itel A55 is more of big screen than battery life. And because of this, one can easily move around conveniently with this phone because of her light weight.
You know how battery powered phones can be heavy atimes.☺️
To wrap this up, I will say the Itel A55 is best for those who need more display on a budget in Nigeria. Her size won’t freak you at all.
