The Tecno Camon 12 is another new addition to the Camon series this year and with me here is the base version. Our impressions so far has been good at least with the upgrades we’ve seen so far in Nigeria.

The Tecno Camon 12 has what it takes to compete with other smartphones in her price point, if you aren’t carefully you are most likely to find yourself in between decisions. That said, let’s see what’s featured on this very phone.

Design & Display

The Tecno Camon 20 design is stunning especiallly the rear, we noticed that the fingerprint is in-display which is cool and a step in the right direction from last year. As for the size, i must say that the size of this phone is huge so if big screen is you type of thing, you will find this fun. You will also find a Type-C port, DTS speakers, microphone and headphone jack at the bottom.

The Tecno Camon 12 display has a 6.67inch size with a 1080 x 2400p resolution and is AMOLED. The display quality is top notch. Watching videos, playing games and general media consumption with this display is vivid, clear and sharp. The display has always-on fetaure as well.

Camera & Battery

The Tecno Camon 20 camera in front has a 32MP sensor, at the back is where the 64MP + 8MP + QVGA camera. The camera has ton of camera features like filters, portrait mode, night mode etc.

The quality of photos coming from the camera looks better than most of her competitors in the price point. As for video recording you can do 2k at 30fps.  

The Tecno Camon 20 battery has a 5000mAh capacity. It does support fast-charging via the 33W fast charging adapter. The battery life is okay, you should get at least a day of solid use. If moderately used, you are pretty set to continue the next day in Nigeria.

Final Thoughts

To wrap, the Tecno Camon 20 price in Nigeria already set it up for the competition which eventually set the pace for decisions as mentioned earlier in the beginning of this post. Some of her strength are in the camera, display, cpu and in-display fingerprint scanner.

With every other thing checked, we didn’t hear anything about future android OS upgrades coming into this device. This is normal for most of their devices but i thinks the Tecno Camon 20 deserve an extra treat. As for the selfie camera, we noticed that it didn’t handle dynamic range very well.
