Design & Display
The design of the Asus ROG Phone 3 is a little in between if you will agree with me. There is no punch-hole display here and that is because it’s a gaming phone, no screen interruption is acceptable.
However, the significant touches on the back are awesome. you are quick to notice the “republic of gamers” inscription boldly written at the back just to remind you that this is a gaming hardware.
Next is the illuminating logo that continues to light up with amazing colors on the go. Even when you wear it the lighting armor case, it still wouldn’t stop. All thanks to the customizable theme that is loaded inside.
The Asus ROG Phone 3 comes with an incredible display. It is a 6.59inch OLED screen with a remarkable 144Hz refresh rate. The resolution is standard too @ 1080p which is quite sufficient for an extensive gaming experience in Nigeria.
Camera & Battery
The cameras on the Asus ROG Phone 3 are pretty okay but it’s still not the best in Nigeria. That’s fine, we actually weren’t expecting anything different having seen what has happened in the past with gaming flagship.
Dedicated gaming phones hardly get a good camera and that is because the buyers aren’t buying them for the camera. Smartphone manufacturers really understand that fact and they have consistently ignored the cameras.
Let’s now take a look at the numbers: In front is a 24MP selfie camera, the back has 3 simple cameras that works pretty good: 64MP + 13MP + 5MP. Both have all the essential camera features you are expecting to see on your smartphone in Nigeria
The battery on the other hand is fire. For a quick note, the Asus ROG phone 3 comes with a hefty 6000mAh battery that can last for two days straight. It is of course non-removable. There is also a quick charge 4.0 charging feature to speed up charging time by a significant amount.
Performance
The performance with respect to gaming is impressive. The Asus ROG Phone 3 is good at this. This is probably the number one reason you are going to buy this particular smartphone in Nigeria.
To better gaming, Asus included what they call an AeroActive cooler 3 clip-on fan that helps to keep the ROG phone 3 system cool. Let’s not forget this phone works with the Xbox wireless controller, Stadia controller, and PS controller.
