Here goes the Tecno T902, another feature phone launched with KaiOS. You might want to call it a small whatsapp phone, and that’s pretty okay. Let’s now proceed and do some justice to learn more about this phone.
To begin, i will start by saying the Tecno T902 is the successor of the T901. What’s new this time isn’t that much but valuable; one of which is 4G LTE. If you are still in love with the default old style features phone, you will find this Tech rewarding.

Design & Display
The Tecno T902 has a very stylish design that reflect those traditional looks you will find in Java phones of old times. Did you miss the physical keyboard and small screen? If yes, look no further than here.
On the display is a 2.4inch QVGA screen with a 240 x 320p resolution. The display quality is pretty much okay for a phone in this category.
Battery & Camera
The Tecno T902 comes with a 2500mAh battery capacity that lets you enjoy apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, YouTube, Letchat and Boomplay. The battery is long-lasting.
There is only one camera on here and it’s at the back. It’s a 0.3MP rear camera with flash.
With this, you can take photos and record videos with decent quality that is okay for a phone
in this price point.
Software & More
As you all know, the Tecno T902 runs on Mocar real-time operating system (RTOS) which is quite easy to navigate and get use to as a first timer. As mentioned earlier, app like Letchat and Boomplay didn’t come pre-installed and sadly there is no whatsApp.
Also not forgetting to mention that the Tecno T902 has WiFi Hotspot and 4G LTE which makes much easier when using one of these apps mentioned above and other internet stuffs. The 64GB expandable options on this phone is a welcome one.
Final Thoughts
I will start by saying am kind of excited with the progression. New T series, new upgrades and not just any kind of upgrades but one that is very essential in our present dispensation. The downside here is that the T902 doesn’t run on KaiOS and so you get to miss a ton of essential apps like whatsApp, Youtube etc.

I did not enjoy tecno 901 when it came out. I have pad issues which is hard to press which lead to it’s spoil. It will not give you result of what you want when navigating. What can I do to rectify the problem.

I have this Tecno T902 phone, I have used it for a month now and can give a credible review on the phone. For avoidance of doubt, it does not run on KaiOS but Mocar RTOS, (it was the earlier version, T901 that shipped with KaiOS) thus is not Whatsapp enabled. You have Boomplay and Letschat pre-installed and both works well, albeit you will notice some lag in Boomplay. As it regards the Phonebook, you can register only two numbers person for those with multiple numbers. The Hotspot works very well as well as the WiFi connection. Since it is a 4G network phone, you will notice an appreciable improvement in call quality. The 2500mah battery lasts but not when you are using the hotspot (which I regularly do), I use the phone as a portable WiFi modem and it drains the battery appreciably. This is not much of a problem as one can easily charge the battery with a nice charger. Texting is in the format of the old T9 and all its shortcomings! All in all, the T902 is a decent phone but it could have been better if it ran on KaiOS and was Whatsapp enabled.
