Introducing the Samsung Galaxy S10E, the third most anticipated Galaxy smartphone of the year. The “Samsung Galaxy S10E”.

The Samsung Galaxy S10E was released the time we were expecting. It is no doubt Samsung response to the IPhone XR from Apple.

The Samsung Galaxy S10E as expected comes with some stunning features and at the same time cost less but that doesn’t mean it’s all that cheap.

Just like the Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus, the Samsung Galaxy S10E is a summary of both Smartphones. You literally can feel it when you grab it.

Am pretty sure many Samsung Galaxy fans in Nigeria are definitely going to key-in to buying this smartphone. Why?

In Nigeria, the Samsung Galaxy cost exactly  the same as her closest rival (IPhone XR) It’s price starts at $799 (about in Nigeria). The Samsung Galaxy S10E is available in multiple colors to choose from: Flamingo Pink, Prism Black, Prism Blue, Prism White, Canary Yellow and Green.

Design

The design of the Samsung Galaxy S10E is on a league of her own even though it does appear to look like her two elder siblings.

The Samsung Galaxy S10E has a premium look and feel, a clean back, a rectangular camera bump, Samsung logo and curved edges.

The Samsung Galaxy S10E comes in a smaller size, weigh less and is very convenient for those who hate using big smartphones in Nigeria.

The Samsung Galaxy S10E is made up of a glass in front and one at the back with a polished looking aluminum frame in the middle.

In front of the Samsung Galaxy S10E is where the 5.8 inch display is positioned with a little bit wide top and bottom bezels on both sides of the phone.

At the top right corner of the display is where the front-facing punch hole camera sits while the speaker grill, USB-C port and headphone jack are placed underneath the smartphone.

As expected, we saw the volume, power and bixby button at the top right edge of the Samsung Galaxy S10E but surprisingly we saw a fingerprint scanner on the same tray.

Display

The Samsung Galaxy S10E is a clear evidence that Samsung is very much interested in the display of her smartphones. This is where the budget gets a little higher.

Even though the Samsung Galaxy S10E is the cheapest Samsung Galaxy phone of the year, I was very impressed to still see this Smartphone rocking a good display.

On the Samsung Galaxy S10E is a 5.8 inch full HD AMOLED infinity-0 display that is super bright and also the best among other smartphones in her category.

The display is however of high quality but it has no curve edges around it.  It boost a 19:9 aspect ratio and a 2280 × 1080 resolution.

Battery life

The battery life of the Samsung Galaxy S10E is not disappointing, it is enough to keep you going throughout the day.

Under the hood of the Samsung Galaxy S10E is a 3100mAh battery with fast charging 2.0 that enables you to charge excessively.

There is also Samsung’s wireless PowerShare that lets you charge up a Qi compatible device like the IPhone X or the Galaxy earbuds.

All you need to do is to place any of the compactible devices at the back of the Samsung Galaxy S10E and watch the magic. This is something you can barely find among smartphones in Nigeria.

Camera

On the Samsung Galaxy S10E is a small punch hole that is acting as a distraction to the display. This is where the 10MP selfie with f/1.9 aperture reside.

At the back of the Samsung Galaxy S10E are two primary cameras with dual aperture. The first is a 12MP main camera while the second is a 16MP secondary camera.

The 12MP main camera on the Samsung Galaxy S10E is for low-light, it can switch between F/1.5 and F/2.4 aperture and has up to 77° field of view.

The 16MP secondary camera on the Samsung Galaxy S10E assist with brighter scenes, it has an f/2.2 aperture with super wide 123° field of view.

The Samsung Galaxy S10E also have Optical Image Stabilization, up to 8x digital zoom with 0.5x out optical zoom and HDR10+ for video recording.

There is however no third camera which was supposed to be for telephoto lens but that didn’t affect the cameras overall rating and level of performance.

Fingerprint sensor

 The placement of the fingerprint reader on the Samsung Galaxy S10E is one of a kind. I must confess, I haven’t seen such before on a smartphone in Nigeria.

The fingerprint reader on the Samsung Galaxy S10E is a physical Capacitive fingerprint Sensor that is positioned on the same edge as the power and volume button.

This fingerprint sensor looks very classy and works really fast. It is also very much accessible, it works even with a single tap.

The fingerprint sensor on the Samsung Galaxy S10E can also be used to turn down the notification bar. All you need to do is to activate this feature via settings.

Software & Spec

As expected, the Samsung Galaxy S10E comes with Google’s latest Android 9.0 pie operating system with Samsung UI to add up.

It comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB ROM storage configuration, there is also a Special version that comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB ROM but expect to pay more.

Whichever variants you choose, just have it at the back of your mind that the Samsung Galaxy S10E can be Upgradable via Micro SD card up to 512GB.

On the Samsung Galaxy S10E, you will find vital sensors like accelerometer, barometer, gyro sensor, pressure sensor and a host of others. It is IP68 rated.

My Thoughts

The Samsung Galaxy S10E is a unique Android smartphone that comes with few uncommon features you can hardly find in Nigeria.

The placement of the fingerprint scanner on the Samsung Galaxy S10E is enough reason to fall in love with this smartphone. This is in fact the number one reason why I love the Samsung Galaxy S10E.

Also, the custom option that allows you to use the fingerprint sensor on the Samsung Galaxy S10E to roll down the notification bar is also commendable.

Aside her fingerprint uniqueness, the Samsung Galaxy S10E also have a long-lasting battery and most of the features you will find on the Samsung Galaxy S10 in Nigeria.

For money sake, if you don’t want to spend much on a flagship and you wish to keep some part of your money at least for other expense, I recommend you buy this Samsung Galaxy S10E in Nigeria.
