Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus – The People’s champ

Last Updated on June 12, 2021 by TM

Samsung decided to unveil two instead of one new flagship this year and the Galaxy Note 10 Plus happens to be one of them.

This is the first time they are doing this but I feel the Note series deserve to come out in pair considering the fact that it’s now in her 10th generation.

Prior to this time, we know very well that the Samsung Galaxy Note family have always been the top on the league. Coupled with her S pen that is one of a kind.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus is a big feature-filled high-end flagship with premium looks and feel. This is not a smartphone for budget buyers in Nigeria.

Design

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 plus has the same typical design as her smaller variant except that its got a really huge size that is hard to grab with a single hand.

At first sight, you will notice that the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus is almost all-screen if not for the punch hole cut-out that is standing on the way.

The cut-out is home to the selfie camera. I kinda like it’s position at the center since it makes the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 plus look very unique and beautiful.

That said, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus is of light weight. It comes in a slim body that is made up of a metal frame and glass back with curved edges at both sides of the display.

The volume rocker and Bixby button are on the left now. I didn’t see a physical power button as expected. This is because the Bixby button have now replaced the power button.

Am sure we know what Bixby does. It works almost exactly like Google Assistant. Samsung just want us to use her own assistant by all means. We will try it anyway.

To turn off the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus simply roll down the notification bar, look through your right, beside the settings icon you will see a small icon, tap it and you are there.

Samsung have finally decided to do away with the 3.5mm headphone jack on the Galaxy Note 10 Plus. No more wired earphones anymore. Wireless is the way to go now in Nigeria.

At the bottom-edge of the phone, you will find the USB-C port, speaker grill and S pen. There is even a sim-tray for dual nano-SIM and micro SD card at the right.

For those who are interested in Hybrid SIM, it is very much available on this phone. There is also an Ultrasonic fingerprint reader on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.

The speaker now offers audio enhanced by Dolby Atmos which provides high guarantee for a rich 3D sound experience. Streaming HD contents on Netflix will be a thing of Joy on this device.

Display

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus comes with a very massive display which is currently the biggest ever we are seeing on the Note series in Nigeria since inception.

The display is a 6.8inch AMOLED Screen that is QHD. It supports HDR 10+ contents, so you can watch YouTube videos and online movies with the best display in Nigeria.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus display can also protect you from eyestrain even with her heavy 3040 x 1440p resolution and 498 ppi on board.

Camera

Before I go straight into talking about the camera features. Let us first of all look at her numbers.

On the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus there is a 10MP selfie camera while at the rear we’ve got a 16MP ultra-wide lens, 12MP regular lens and another 12MP telephoto lens.

That’s not all, the rear camera also feature two depth vision sensors that are very good at sensing depth and distinguish between subjects and their background.

Aside basic task, the camera on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus can be used for 3D AR and Blur video shooting but there are more to these.

Have you heard about the Zoom in Mic feature on the Note 10 Plus? This thing let’s you record audio you focus your object on using the camera not minding the distance.

Battery life

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus comes with a battery capacity that can automatically adjust to suite your mobile habit so you can enjoy your day.

Inside the Galaxy Note 10 Plus is a 4300mAh battery that is built-in with 45w superfast charge support. You get up to 70% in 30 minutes.

This is the first time we are seeing this big battery on the Note series. I must say it’s a welcome development especially for us here in Nigeria. At least one can now enjoy this flagship with peace of mind.

We should not forget the Popular wireless charging and Powershare feature Samsung introduced some years back. They are all present on the Galaxy Note 10 Plus.

Software & Spec

The software on this flagship is right on time, we’ve got Android 9.0 Pie OS based on One UI which we very much know is Samsung primary user interface.

There is also a 7nm processor with 2.0Gbps LTE for incredible speed on file downloads, live gaming, and content streaming.

The Storage on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus have also been taken to the next level. The storage comes in two main variants.

The first is an 8GB RAM and 256GB ROM while the second is a 12GB RAM and 512GB ROM. Both can be expandable via microSD up to 1TB.

The available storage on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus may vary depending on pre-installed apps so don’t expect to see equal numbers as those stated above.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus is still IP68 water and dust resistant. It comes with Snapdragon 855 chipset, her improved AI and enhanced NPU provides you with smooth gaming experience.

S pen

The S pen on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus is very powerful, It is not just an ordinary pen, there are lots of stuffs this thing can do.

First, the S pen is Bluetooth enabled. It can be used to slide through projected presentation, play & pause videos and even do some video editing.

You can take photos using the S pen. Do screen off memo, air gestures, zoom in and out, change audio volume, flip through photos and do some writing on the screen without loading a single app.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus does a great job of converting your handwriting to text in the background and indexes that text which becomes visible when you make a search.

There is more to this, everything is in the S pen tip when you unbox. Please do well to read. You are definitely going to learn a lot.

More Tech features on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus

Other exciting features on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus includes:
1. Play Galaxy link: this feature allows you to connect the Galaxy Note 10 Plus with your PC so that you can play PC games on mobile.
2. Live Focus Video: with live Focus video, you can apply bokeh effects to video clips as well as photos.
3. Augmented Reality Mode: this feature enables you to do some drawings on video clips. Samsung calls it AR Doodle.

My thoughts

We can all clearly see why Samsung added the “Plus” title to the Galaxy Note 10 Plus. This is by far the best deal to go for in Nigeria except you are not willing to pay the extra cash.

It is not as if the Note 10 is bad, is just that Samsung is giving us every single reason to opt in for the bigger one. Everything is high-end on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus.

The special rainbow color is here, expandable storage is here, depth sensor is here, the biggest and best display is here. A whole bunch of other Note 10 Plus features will amaze you.

If you need a smartphone with stunning features that can stand the test of time or maybe you need a smartphone to stick around for a measurable time, I strongly recommend you buy the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus in Nigeria.
